CHARITY IN AID OF UNDERPRIVILEGED STUDENTS

Catering to the need of some two hundred underprivileged students and orphans from SK Taman Bunga Raya 1, 48300 Bukit Beruntung, Rawang, and SWAN Foundation together with the generous contribution of The Saujana Hotel & Resort, Kuala Lumpur jointly hosted a buffet party for these children.

Each of them received a SWAN school bag, school uniform, school shoes and socks and some special children were given a set of color pencils and tuition bags to enable them to make it due to the new school semester.

As a multi-racial nation of Malaysia, Hari Raya is certainly a big festival to celebrate. Datuk Seri Zulhasnan, Federal Territories Minister hosted the Open House Hari Raya celebration in Taman Setiawangsa. All the residents from all walks of lives were invited to this gathering. They were entertained to songs, music and games.

SWAN Foundation also played an important role to the community by sponsoring SWAN school bags to the less fortunate children of Taman Setiawangsa. We strongly encouraged such activities in our society as it enhances peace, harmony and goodwill in our country.

PAEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (PICU) OF UNIVERSITY MALAYA MEDICAL CENTRE

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Kuala Lumpur is a tertiary referral centre dedicated to the care of critically ill children.\

In the year 2000, initiated by Professor Lucy Lum Chai See, Consultant of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and Mr. SS Raja, Organizing Chairman, the Charity Jam Carnival has received tremendous support from the Media, corporate clients as well as many associations.

Approached by Mr. Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, General Manager of The Saujana, Kuala Lumpur, and SWAN Foundation pledged its support in this worthy cause by participating in organizing the Children’s Christmas Party at the University Hospital

The event was kicked off by treating the young patients to a scrumptious buffet lunch followed by a tour of the Pediatric ward where a dedicated team of trained doctors and nurses attended to need of the sickly children.

We hope to touch the hearts of others to join hands and show their love and care for these children.

The Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor (SCAS), which provides help and support to many children handicapped suffering from different forms of disabilities plans to expand its centre in order to accommodate more handicapped children not only locally but also from other states in the country.

To achieve this ambitious plan, its honorary director, SCAS & FT, Datuk Dr. Mohinder Singh, JP together with its director, Dato(Dr) Lam Peng Chong, JP organized the Uptown Charity Carnival Sale to raise funds in support of their Spastic Redevelopment Programme.

In line with its ‘Always Caring and Giving’ principles, SWAN Foundation played an active role by setting up a booth to sell SWAN school bags and all proceeds of the day went into the building fund of the Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor (SCAS).

Chinese New Year Children’s Party

 

As an annual Chinese New Year event, SWAN Foundation actively participates with Persatuan Hainan Selangor & FT, (Thean Hou Temple) and China Press by Hosting the Chinese New Year Children Party.

This year, some seven hundred and fifty orphans from sixteen orphanages including those from TiRatana Welfare Society, YMCA Deaf Club, Pure Life Society, Rumah Charis, Association of Retarded Children Sel & WP and Kiwanis Down Syndrome were invited to this party.

SWAN Foundation, one of the main sponsors of the event, gave away to each child a SWAN school bag complete with stationery just good for them to start their new school term.

To add joy to this occasion, the children also received free “Ang Pows” from sponsors and people from the public who turned up in numbers to support.

With the recent flood that hit the state of Johore, Swan Foundation participated in the official launching of the first Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) Mobile Clinic in Malaysia. The event was officiated by Dato Seri Chan Kong Choy, Deputy President, MCA.

On this day, the residents in Selangor were treated to a free health screening by the Medical Support Unit of CRSM. 

In line with its slogan, ‘Always Caring and Giving’, SWAN Foundation offered aid by donating SWAN school and travelling bags to the affected flood victims

We hope our commitment to help the community by giving our highest level of care will help them through during this stressful time.

As a very devoted and caring political leader, Datuk Seri Chew Mei Fun organized a Chinese New Year Lunch in her constituency in aid of  single mothers and their children by providing humanitarian needs to them to enable them brave through their hardship.

SWAN Foundation took a step forward to support her objective by donating SWAN School bags and ‘ang pows’ to the children of these single mothers.

Our message to them is that “they are not alone and we feel their suffering and pledge our support to them.”
